Barmac Contracting Ltd. has been an oilfield construction contractor in the Drayton Valley area since 1999. The company is dually owned by the husband and wife team of Bart MacLean and Norma Block. Norma serves as the office manager, Bart as the field supervisor. During the peak season there are 30 - 35 employees. This includes three people in the office, and 2 - 3 site supervisors. Currently Barmac has 30 pieces of equipment and is able to lease or rent additional equipment as requested.

Barmac Contracting Ltd. mainly serves the oil and gas industry, focusing their efforts on oilfield lease building, roads and road maintenance. They have worked in the Lodgepole, Edson, Hinton, Grande Cache, Whitecourt, Swan Hills, Barrhead, Stony Plain, Grande Prairie, Calmar, and Rocky Mountain House areas. Currently they are exploring opportunities in Fort McMurray, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan, and have recently incorporated their company in these two additional provinces.
